Ceilidh Gao
Ceilidh Gao (pronounced “Kay-Lee”) works on telecommunications and media policy at the Communications Workers of America (CWA), a labor union representing workers in telecommunications, broadcasting, journalism, technology, and other industries.
Her work focuses on protecting local news and supporting media workers through advocacy before the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the courts, and Congress. CWA has been a leading advocate for local news, opposing the elimination of the National Cap on broadcast ownership and the proposed merger of Nexstar and TEGNA.
Working in coalition with allied organizations, Ceilidh advances policies that strengthen local journalism, protect media workers, and promote a diverse and competitive media landscape.
